The Knesset library was founded in 1950 and serves the Members of Knesset, the parliamentary assistants, the staff of the Party Groups, the Knesset staff and journalists.

The library's main tasks are to assist Members of Knesset in their parliamentary, legislative and public work, and to enable them to be informed about what is happening in Israel and the world, in a wide range of subjects.

The reading room
The collection of books in the library is suited to the requirements of the Knesset Members and their assistants. It includes primarily parliamentary, political and legal material. In addition, the library is connected to various internal and external computerized data bases, including Internet.

The library users have at their disposal a reading room, where they can find reference material, law books, the daily press, a variety of journals as well as computer terminals.
