The thirty first government was formed by Ehud Olmert on May 4th 2006. The coalition included the following parliamentary groups: Kadima, Labor-Meimad, Shas, Yisrael Beitenu, and Gil Pensioners Party.
On January 18 2008, Yisrael Beitenu resigned from the government over a disagreement regarding the government's negotiations with the Palestinians on core issues.
