Poalei Agudat Yisrael

Description:

A Haredi workers party that came out of the ranks of Agudat Yisrael, and was a member of the Histadrut. Po'alei Agudat Yisrael ran in the elections for the First Knesset within the framework of the United Religious Front. It ran in the elections for the Second, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh and Ninth Knessets, under its own name. In the elections for the Third, Fourth and Eighth Knessets, it ran within the framework of the Torah Religious Front with Agudat Yisrael, but in the course of the Fourth and Eighth Knessets left the Front and formed an independent parliamentary list. In the course of the Fourth Knesset MK Binyamin Minz of Po'alei Agudat Yisrael joined the Government as Minister of Postal Services. In the course of the Eleventh Knesset MK Avrahm Verdiger formed a parliamentary group called Morasha-Po'alei Agudat Yisrael.
