Post office branches and mobile-post units will distribute public transportation tickets to those eligible for free transportation on Election Day.
By law, the eligibility for free transportation on Election Day is for those who have the right
to vote but are situated on Election Day in a community that is over 20 km from the
voters' registered polling station.
Tickets to those eligible will be distributed starting Wednesday, 15.1.03 at all post offices
and by mobile-post. Anyone eligible must present his/her ID card including the attachment
that specifies the address and/or the "Notice to the Voter".
The distribution of tickets will end on Monday, 27.1.03. On Election Day, 28.1.03 those
eligible will be able to obtain tickets at the regional elections committees. The addresses
of the regional committees are available on the Knesset Elections Website or
from the public information center that will open
on 19.1.03 and will operate until the end of Election Day on 28.1.03.
Those eligible, who prefer to take the train on Election Day, can receive a ticket at the train
station's ticketing office.
In special circumstances, on Election Day, it will be possible to speak to representatives
of the Elections Committee who will be at Egged's central bus stations throughout the
country.
Those traveling to vote in Eilat or from Eilat to vote elsewhere in Israel are required to
pre-register at an Egged central bus station or by telephone 03-6948888.
